Fans of Crystal Palace have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports regarding the future of Palace youngster, Jadan Raymond.
According to recent reports in Portuguese media outlet O Jogo, the 16-year-old central midfielder has agreed a three-year deal with Liga NOS side Vitoria Guimaraes and will join the club upon the expiry of his contract with Palace this summer.
In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by Palace Xtra on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with some suggesting that if the reports are true, the 16-year-old’s departure makes a mockery of the club’s academy system.
? There’s ‘total agreement’ between Jadan Raymond and Vitória Guimarães for a three-year contract.
Crystal Palace are already aware of the deal, and the 16-year-old is making the move as soon as he’s able to take a flight to Portugal.

Reports by Sky Sports suggested that Raymond has also attracted interest from both Benfica and Valencia, following a series of impressive performances for England U17s in the Syrenka Cup in Poland.
Do you blame Jadan Raymond for wanting to leave Palace?
Yes
No
However, some Palace fans have suggested that they do not blame the youngster for wanting to leave, stating their belief that the club’s poor record at promoting academy players is likely a reason for the 16-year-old’s decision to reject the club’s offer of a new contract, while others have claimed the situation with Raymond has reminded them of when John Bostock left the club.
Can’t blame him for turning down our extension, he won’t get opportunities at Palace our recent record has been so poor, AWB only got in through injuries, wish him the best of luck

Other Palace fans have criticised their club, laughing at the fact that Palace have suggested that fans can put their season ticket refund money towards upgrades of the club’s academy.
And they want me to put my season ticket money towards academy upgrades hahahahaha

Imagine putting your season ticket refunds towards are pathetic academy

Regardless of the external factors, the fact that a talented youth prospect is unwilling to remain at Palace is not good for the club, and would not seem to bode well for the future production of youngsters.
