Fans of Crystal Palace have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports regarding the future of Palace central midfielder, Jadan Raymond.
According to a Daily Mail report from last year, Palace have so far been unable to tie the 16-year-old, who the report claims is one of the brightest talents in the Eagles academy, down to professional terms, with Valencia and Benfica reportedly plotting moves for the youngster.
More recently, Last Word On Football wrote an article which cited the original Mail report regarding Raymond, and after this was relayed by Palace Xtra on Twitter, fans of the club flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that if the reports are true then it would be typical of the club.
Do you think Jadan Raymond will sign a professional deal with Palace?
Yes
No
? Jadan Raymond is in the last year of his youth contract with Palace, but the club have failed to tie him down to a contract renewal.
Valencia and Benfica could sign him for as little as £250,000.

If he is worthy of it then let’s get him sorted. If not then we smile and wish him well. Someone must be running this side of things surely !!

This is ridiculous if true…

Or he could stay and learn his trade, show some loyalty and get the right move when he’s ready. Daily Mail so it’s probably just made up anyway.

He’s quality mate, only reason you haven’t heard of him is because he’s so young.

Typical Palace

Rather than spending money on a shiny new academy maybe we could use it to secure the decent few kids we do have on contracts instead. JAT.

What do we think?
If it is indeed true that Palace have been unable to convince Raymond – who impressed for England U17s at the Syrenka Cup last summer, scoring the winning penalty for his country in the final of the tournament – to sign a professional contract, then it is very understandable why many of these Palace fans would be frustrated with their club.
However, with no recent reports regarding the progression of talks between the player and the club, Palace fans will just have to wait and see whether or not the 16-year-old remains with the Eagles.
