Fans of Crystal Palace have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports regarding the resumption of the Premier League season.

According to recent reports in The Telegraph, the Premier League is set to resume on Wednesday, June 17 after a three-month suspension, with Manchester City vs Arsenal and Aston Villa vs Sheffield United being the opening two fixtures.

A full round of fixtures will then be played across June 19, 20 and 21, with BBC Sport reporting that the games will be played at staggered times of 20:00 on Friday, 12:30, 15:00, 17:30 and 20:00 on Saturday, and 12:00, 14:00, 16:30 and 19:00 on Sunday.

In reaction to the news, which was relayed on Twitter by the official Crystal Palace Twitter account, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating just how delighted they are at the thought of Premier League football returning.

Palace have nine games remaining to play this season, with the club sitting in a comfortable 11th place in the Premier League table, 12 points above the relegation zone and only six behind Manchester United in fifth place.

And, following the news that football will be returning in a little under three weeks, it would appear as if many of the Palace fans are delighted at the prospect of their club being back in action, with some even suggesting that their side could push on to qualify for European football next season.

While it would appear to be quite a tough ask for Palace to qualify for Europe next season, it is not beyond the realms of possibility.

However, with Liverpool, Chelsea, Leicester City, Tottenham, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United all to play over their remaining fixtures, it would be wise for Palace fans not to put the cart before the horse when it comes to holding out hope for European qualification.
