Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been discussing former Villa manager Paul Lambert.
This comes after Villa-focused Twitter account @VillaTil1Die shared a post on their page asking their followers to sum up Lambert in one word.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were not shy in sharing their views on the Scotsman and his time in charge of the club.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:

Banned myself for 18 months while he was there could not stand him

Done well with what he had but should have fought harder for bigger budget, feel he accepted we were a bottom 6 club far too easy and staying up was success. There’s loads of one words

Scapegoat!!! Was always in a lose lose situation with Learner done well to keep us up in the end all got to much for him. We were buying bargain basement players all the time. He was linked to players that were brought by others and done well.

Did Paul Lambert do a good job at Villa?
Yes
No
Lambert took over at Villa Park back in 2012 before leaving in February 2015, halfway through the 2014/15 season (per Transfermarkt). During his time at the club, Lambert took charge of 115 matches as manager, picking up a points-per-match average of 1.11 (per Transfermarkt).
Now that the question has been put to the Villa fans to sum up Lambert’s tenure as manager, this sparked a big discussion on Twitter.
Lambert era was the worst era for me (minus the relegation season) as a villa fan felt like we lost 5-0 every week

Remember watching his first home game in charge against Everton looking forward to the nice football he got Norwich to play. 3-0 down at halftime got me asking the same questions up until he was sacked. The team looked the same as McLeish’s.

Came in with an excellent (to pinch his own catchphrase) reputation. Tried to implement that in his first season, but got spooked by the defeats and reverted to containing football

What do we think?
It appears that lots of Villa fans have some different views and opinions on Lambert and his time as manager of the Birmingham club.
