Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news from the Premier League.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying news originally posted in a recent statement from the Premier League.
The statement revealed that “on Sunday 17 May and Monday 18 May, 748 players and club staff were tested” for the current viral outbreak and that “six have tested positive from three clubs.”
The statement also revealed that those who have tested positive will self-isolate for seven days.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from lots of Villa fans who were not shy about airing their views on this latest update.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:

The season should’ve been voided a long time ago, trying to appease the Media to help promote Leeds who haven’t even finished their own season and earned promotion themselves, makes me sick

It’s just getting pathetic now, season should of stopped weeks ago, give the scousers the title and be done with it, more players will get it then teams at a disadvantage so no relegation or promotion hard onLeeds etc but it’s a pandemic no one expected

So will the PL force these players and teams to risk their lives and the lives of their loved ones so the league can make its television revenue?

Is now the right time for players to go back to training?
Yes
No
The Premier League also announced earlier this week that top-flight teams will be allowed to go back to having team training sessions whilst following social distancing guidelines. Now that the Premier League have revealed the number of virus tests they have given and the results of those tests, this news sparked a big reaction on Twitter, with many Villa fans sharing their thoughts on the situation.
Inevitable! What about all the family members and people who they have been in touch with! Void the season!

What do we think?
It appears that these Villa fans don’t think the season should be continuing if there have been players or club staff that have tested positive for the viral outbreak. For every decision that the footballing authorities have to take from now on, the safety and well-being of every person at every club must be the main priority.
