Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest comments made by Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter page @villareport shared a post on their page relaying Bamford’s comments originally from a recent Q&A the striker had with the official Leeds club website.
In the Q&A, Bamford revealed that one of his least favourite moments for Leeds came during the controversial 1-1 draw between the two teams in the Championship last season where he faked a facial injury from Villa winger Anwar El Ghazi.
Bamford said that he feels “embarrassed” when looking back at the incident that saw El Ghazi get a red card.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were quick to share their thoughts on Bamford’s admission.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:
Patrick Bamford: “I'll tell you my least favourite (moment) first. It was the Aston Villa game, at the end of last year. I look back at that and I actually feel embarrassed.” [lufc] #avfc pic.twitter.com/OyFgMYjeuS

It was disgraceful behaviour but at least he has had the dignity and good grace to apologise which many other cheating footballers (Rivaldo, Henry et al) haven’t. He made a mistake. We’ve moved on.

What do we think?
While it’s good that Bamford has eventually come out and criticised himself for his actions during the match against Villa last season, it appears that these Villa fans are still not happy with the striker and what he did.
