Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest comments made by club chief executive Christian Purslow.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying Purslow’s recent comments in an interview with TalkSPORT.
Purslow revealed that he is against the idea of the remaining Premier League games being played at neutral stadiums across the country.
He also added that Villa are a club that “prides itself on home form” before saying that two-thirds of Villa’s wins this season have come from Villa Park.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were quick to share their responses to Purslow’s comments.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:
Christian Purslow: “Personally I am against it (neutral venues). We are a club that prides itself on home form. Two-thirds of our wins this season came at home. We have six left.” [talksport] #avfc

I just wish someone would have the bottle to come out and say “we aren’t playing without the fans”.

I think recent comments from DS about wanting to finish was a smokescreen. Owners and CEO have been quiet until now & unless we have a level playing field, will play hardball. Why give up the advantage of 60% of games left being at home. Risk to players & finances are too high.

It’s about time we became a club that also prides itself on our away form … we’ve been general cannon fodder on the road for the most part of a decade and I’m sick of it

Would you be okay with Villa playing their remaining games at neutral venues?
Yes
No
Villa currently sit in 19th place in the relegation zone of the Premier League table having won seven, drawn four and lost 17 league matches so far this season. Now that Purslow has come out and aired his intentions to see Villa take on their remaining scheduled game at Villa Park, this sparked a huge discussion on Twitter.
NULL & VOID only fair solution until a safe restart point. This could be roughly around the start of next season anyway in a best case scenario.

There won’t be any football, you watch!

Villa are a game behind courtesy of the cup final. We missed a winnable home game to play at Wembley. If PPG is applied then it needs to be based on the position at the previous set of Fixtures when everyone had played the same number of games.

What do we think?
It’s good to see Purslow have so much faith in the Villa Park crowd to help their team win their remaining league matches. Whether this will be allowed or not is still up in the air.
