A group of Aston Villa supporters have been discussing a recent Twitter post from the club with the caption ‘What a Marvelous day’ and an image of Marvelous Nakamba in training. Premier League clubs voted unanimously to return to training in small groups earlier in the week as the authorities prepare for the resumption of the 2019/20 campaign.
Nakamba signed for the Villans last summer from Club Brugge in a deal reportedly worth £10.8m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk) and the defensive midfielder has gone on to represent the Midlands club on 26 occasions since.
Here is how some of the Villa Park faithful have responded to the post.

Loads of coverage for a player who has been largely poor since he joined. I’d rather we celebrate players who have actually played well, not just someone with an unusual first name.

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that the majority of these fans enjoyed the post. However, one fan, in particular, was very keen to highlight that in his view, Nakamba has been ‘largely poor’ since he joined Aston Villa. His average performance rating in the Premier League this season currently stands at 6.60/10 according to WhoScored.com, so on that basis, in our view, there is an argument to say he needs to improve.
