A group of West Bromwich Albion supporters have been discussing Romaine Sawyers’ tweet after he took charge of the team on Football Manager and guided them to a 5-0 victory over Coventry City.
Sawyers is the Baggies’ representative in the EFL Football Manager Cup – and got his virtual managerial debut off to the perfect start. The midfielder thanked his players and the ‘vocal’ supporters as he sealed a place in next week’s second round, prompting a response from these Baggies fans.

What do we think?
Sawyers’ tweet appears to have gone down well with these supporters and he’s clearly a popular figure. He’s made 33 appearances in the centre of midfield this season with an average performance rating of 6.61/10 according to WhoScored.com.
The Baggies were closing in on promotion back to the Premier League under Slaven Bilic before the Championship was suspended along with the rest of English football due to the recent viral outbreak and will be hoping to maintain their position once the season eventually resumes.
Hopefully, West Brom’s exploits in the world of Football Manager will help keep fans going until then, thanks to Sawyers’ impressive performance in Bilic’s virtual shoes.
