A group of Sheffield Wednesday supporters have been discussing some footage the club have shared on Twitter of Fernando Forestieri’s stunning goal versus Norwich City which was just over a year ago.
The fixture ended in a 2-2 draw after Mario Vrancic’s dramatic stoppage-time equaliser (as per Sky Sports). Here is what some of the Hillsborough faithful have had to say in response to the post.
I was so exhausted after this long away day. But this goal made it all worth while! Absolutely amazing ???

And that’s why #SWFC should seriously consider extending his contract!
Yes, the kid does get injured a lot, but to be fair he takes more heavy stick on the field than the rest of the team put together but when on the ball he’s the most exciting player we’ve got!— Graeme Walker (@GraemeWalker20) April 19, 2020
Amazing goal that’s why we need to keep him ?
How we didn’t win that game us beyond me #swfc #wawaw— PAUL ?TCB?HARDY (@Paul2312Hardy) April 19, 2020

What do we think?
Fernando Forestieri’s current contract with Sheffield Wednesday is due to expire in June this year (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). The forward signed for the Owls back in August 2015 from Watford in a deal reportedly worth £3.71m.
Based on the above responses, most of these supporters would like to see him offered a contract extension. He’s currently 30-years-old and has made 17 appearances in the Championship so far this season, contributing two goals and two assists.
Forestieri has been absent for 16 of the club’s league fixtures this season and so there remain question marks over whether he is worth keeping despite his talents.
