A group of Middlesbrough supporters have been reacting to the club’s post regarding their former midfielder Grant Leadbitter. The tweet was a GIF of the now 34-year-old gesturing the crowd at Loftus Road during a game versus Queens Park Rangers in April 2016.
The Boro won the game despite Leadbitter having a penalty saved by Alex Smithies but the captain delivered perfectly from the resulting corner, setting up Gaston Ramirez to score the club’s second that night (via BBC Sport).
Here’s how some of the fans have reacted to the post.
He’s magic, you knowwww

What do we think?
Grant Leadbitter left the Riverside to return to Sunderland in January 2019 on a free transfer (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). He made 244 appearances for the club in which he scored 33 goals and provided his teammates with 37 assists.
During his time on Teesside, the midfielder was no stranger to a yellow card. He received 60 during his time with the club. It’s clear from the above responses that the fans still hold the player in high regard despite more than a year having passed since his departure.
