Some Leeds United fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Leeds Live’s Beren Cross, who has shared a report of Whites owner Andrea Radrizzani’s proposed plan to complete the 2019/20 season.

The English football season was severely disrupted by the current viral outbreak on 13 March, when an EFL statement confirmed that games were to be postponed. It was later confirmed that the professional game would not recommence “until at least 30 April” in England, as reported by BBC Sport

The Whites currently lead the Championship with nine games remaining, and a Leeds Live recent report includes comments allegedly made by Radrizzani in a recent interview with Italian newspaper Tuttosport.

According to Leeds Live, Radrizzani recently declared that he believes the season could be completed within a month and a half or less, explaining that “nine games could be played in June or even behind closed doors on Sunday and Wednesday”.

Some Leeds fans have flocked to Cross’ recent tweet sharing this report, to respond with their view on Radrizzani’s proposed plan to finish the 2019/20 season. Read the reactions of some Whites supporters to this suggestion in the tweets below.

To kick off our quiz on the inaugural 2004/05 EFL Championship campaign, who managed Sunderland to a first-place finish in the 2004/05 Championship season?

What do we think?

Leeds United currently sit at the top of the Championship table, seven points clear of third-placed Fulham who are their nearest challengers sitting outside of the Championship’s automatic promotion places at present. As a result, it may be fair to say that the Whites are currently in a promising position to potentially return to England’s top flight for the first time since being relegated back in the 2003/04 campaign

Considering that they currently lead the Championship with just nine league games left to play this term, it may be understandable why some Leeds supporters might want this season to be completed at any cost.
