Some Celtic fans have been discussing a tweet about SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan that recently emerged on social media.
BBC Scotland’s chief sports writer Tom English recently tweeted about MacLennan. He slammed him for not making himself ‘available to journalists for once’, despite having worked in the media for ’40 years’. He also revealed that MacLennan is ‘strangely reluctant’ to make contact with the media in light of the recent furore over the vote to end the football season in Scotland’s lower tiers.
This comes after MacLennan had released a Q&A on the BBC, answering some questions about the league seasons in Scotland and the SPFL vote, stretching up to almost 3,500 words and talked about a variety of issues.
On seeing this, many Celtic fans slammed English and defended MacLennan.
Media select what they want to write or look into. Media in Scottish football have failed. Give the media nowt. Clubs shouldnt talk to media either. Use their own websites to communicate with fans.

Has the media in Scotland let Celtic down?
Yes, they have
That's too harsh
Why should he. Your important only to yourselves. No trust in SMSM…. Too many scribes giving out wrong information or just simply being economical with the truth.

Are you suggesting Scottish football journalists are actually capable of asking questions?
Good joke.

What do we think?
English’s tweet is very valid, considering The Scotsman had also posted an article criticising MacLennan and his handling of the whole situation. The article asked MacLennan to provide ‘clarity’ on multiple issues, implying the situation could have been handled better by the SPFL. In that sense, English is right to point out this issue and the fans should listen to what he is saying.
