Some Celtic fans have labelled Marvin Compper as the worst player to have ever played for the club.
Hoops-related page Celtic1967.com recently asked fans to name the worst player that the club has ever had over the years.
While this had fans coming up with many names, some of them took the name of Compper as plenty of fans laid into the German centre-back.

The German joined Celtic from RB Leipzig in the winter of 2018 for a fee of £1.03 million and left the club after a season and a half last summer, departing for Duisburg on a free transfer (via Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
The fact that Compper stayed at Celtic for little over one season suggests his tint at Parkhead was unsuccessful. During the 34-year-old’s time at the club, he made just a single appearance in all competitions, coming in a Scottish Cup game against Morton.
As a Hoops player, Compper had missed 31 games due to injury and this shows that maybe he wasn’t totally to blame for not playing much. In that sense, it is may be harsh to label him the ‘worst’ player in the club’s history if he never played regularly because of injury.
