Some Brentford fans have been reacting to a tweet that was recently posted by the Bees’ official Twitter account sharing that three of the club’s players were recently included in FourFourTwo magazine’s ‘EFL top 50 list’.

The Bees’ official Twitter account recently made a post sharing the news that Brentford trio Pontus Jansson, Said Benrahma, and Ollie Watkins were included in what has been described by the Bees’ official website as a “prestigious” list of the 50 best players “currently plying their trade outside the Premier League”.

Some Brentford fans have been sharing their disappointment that only those three Bees players were included in this list, in response to this tweet, with Bryan Mbeumo, Christian Norgaard, Henrik Dalsgaard, and Rico Henry all receiving a mention from at least one Bees fan as being deserving of a place on this list.

Read the responses from some Bees fans who have claimed that more of their players should be on this list in the tweets below.

To kick off our quiz on the inaugural 2004/05 EFL Championship campaign, who managed Sunderland to a first-place finish in the 2004/05 Championship season?

What do we think?

Considering that Brentford are currently sitting in fourth place on the Championship table, it may be fair to say that their squad might contain some of the best players currently plying their trade outside of the top-flight in England.

It may also be fair to say that Mbeumo, in particular, has been one of Brentford’s best players this term, scoring 14 goals and making six assists in his 34 Championship appearances for the Bees during the 2019/20 campaign. Only Watkins has scored more league goals for Brentford than Mbeumo this season, while only Benrahma has made more league assists than Mbeumo has for the Bees this term according to WhoScored.com.

With that in mind, it may be understandable why some Brentford fans have shared some frustration that Mbeumo, as well as some other Brentford players, have been excluded from FourFourTwo’s list.
