Fans have been reacting to an article in The Athletic, in which Tim Spiers writes about the many things he is currently missing about Wolves during the current break from the season.
They include “plotting Wolves’ course to the Europa League final” and “the smell of greasy burgers, sausages and bacon combined in one”.

Spiers’ piece certainly brings with it some very missed emotions surrounding the joys of football, and it is clear from their comments that many of the fans experienced similar emotions when reading the article.
One of the most enjoyable components of football is the escapism that it provides, whether that is from a bad day at work, anxiety or stress in your personal life – anything, really – and in the current situation that the country finds itself in, it is unfortunate that in football, we have lost a means of forgetting about the harshness of reality.
However, it will be back, and what is clear from the comments on Spiers’ article is that the vast majority cannot wait.
