Tim Spiers, Wolves writer for The Athletic, recently posted a tweet sharing the news that UEFA has postponed the Europa League “until further notice” after a recent meeting.
UEFA posted a tweet which confirmed that they were going to be hosting “a video conference with member associations” on Wednesday in order to discuss, among other things, “the potential rescheduling of matches”, following the current viral outbreak which has caused disruption across European football.
On Thursday 12th March, UEFA announced via their official website that two UEFA Champions League fixtures were going to be postponed. They later postponed all fixtures that were set to take place over that coming week, which they announced via another official statement.
Following Wednesday’s meeting, UEFA has now confirmed that all matches that had been set to take place in UEFA competitions will “remain postponed until further notice”.
Spiers’ tweet sharing this news has caught the attention of some Wolves supporters. Read the reactions of some Wolves fans to Spiers’ recent post regarding the continued postponement of European football matches in the tweets below.

If UEFA extend all European football (including domestic leagues)till Sept/Oct.?Then the next two seasons could run from January to September and fit perfectly well with the World Cup in 2022 scheduled for November/December

I’ve made the same point elsewhere. The fact that the World Cup is timed like that means several seasons will be put out anyway. May as well start fitting around it now and run straight seasons rather than several more disjointed ones. But that would be waaaay too simple for UEFA

What do we think?
Prior to this season, Wolves had not taken part in any European competition since the 1980/81 campaign. Considering that the club are currently involved in European competition for the first time in nearly 40 years, it may be understandable if some Wolves supporters are disappointed to see this season’s Europa League competition get postponed.
