Supporters of West Ham United have been left furious after a transfer report revealed how much David Moyes will have to spend in the summer.
According to an answer in a Sky Sports Q&A, “the plan was for Moyes to be given £40 million to spend in the summer”, however, that was before play was suspended (via West Ham News), which had fans furious.

We shouldn’t be putting this kind of information in public at all, pitiful as that amount is. It’s stupid to say how much you have or haven’t got. Typical.

£40M doesn’t even buy a drcent CB , our board are a joke

That’s a pathetic total…the owners don’t care if we’re competitive in any way, I wonder if they’ll be including the Bowen & Soucek totals in that!
Even accounting for Release clauses, that doesn’t get you much in the market anymore unless we sell, Salisu £10.5m is a must IMO— Steven McCarthy (@StevenMcCarthy9) April 2, 2020
The answer in the Sky Sports Q&A goes on to state that the Scottish manager wants to sign a ‘striker to support Sebastien Haller and strengthen in the full-back positions’.
Furthermore, the report suggests that Moyes has been doing a lot of work behind the scenes to allow the club to be run in the correct way, which has impressed the owners (per Sky Sports), however, fans were still furious.
Great. In 2020 in modern top flight football that’s not one World Class Player. @davidgold @karren_brady @jsullivanwhu Lied to, cheated, betrayed. Long live the Boleyn. #GSBOUT #GONOW

What do we think?
As can be judged from the responses from plenty of West Ham supporters, they appear to be furious over what they perceive to be a low transfer fund for the summer.
However, the short quote in the tweet does not tell the full story as the actual report stated ‘he’ll be given more money to spend’ if the Hammers stay up and the season is completed (per Sky Sports) – so fans should perhaps always seek to read the full story.
