Spurs fans have flocked to a tweet from Toby Alderweireld after he discussed the North London derby that should’ve taken place last weekend.
The Belgian defender tweeted a brief video of him celebrating a goal against the Gunners from 2016, as Sunday should’ve seen the Lilywhites hosting Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The 31-year-old wrote: “Seen as it’s supposed to be the #NorthLondonDerby today… Can’t wait for feelings like this again! Stay safe everyone,” which has attracted the attention of plenty of Spurs supporters on Twitter.
The former Atletico Madrid defender signed a new contract with the north London club earlier this season, extending his stay until 2023. So far this year, the centre-back has averaged a solid 6.79 rating for his performances in the Premier League, despite the Lilywhites keeping just four clean sheets in the top flight this season, something the Belgian will no doubt want to improve on when the season resumes.

What do we think?
Even though Spurs have endured a rather disappointing campaign, it is good to see that fans are still supportive and keen to see football make a return as soon as it is safe to do so.
