When asked by COYS.com on Twitter which former Spurs player fans would most like to see back in the current team, a lot of fans replied singing the praises of Ledley King.
The centre-back made 323 appearances for the Lilywhites during his career and was undoubtedly denied a whole lot more due to the injuries that plagued him throughout his time at the North London club and eventually led to King retiring at the age of 31 in 2012. Considering that Spurs have kept just four clean sheets in the Premier League so far this season, it is no surprise to see so many suggesting that they would want to bring the 39-year-old defender back to the club if he were still fit and playing.
Despite his regular injury problems, he was still described as “a freak” by Harry Redknapp, while Martin Jol described King as the “best central defender” he had ever seen. This shows that he was extremely well thought of by his managers during his time with Spurs.
Which player would you rather have back in the team in their prime?
Ledley King
Jimmy Greaves

With how we are playing at the moment?? 100% Ledley King. Need some one to sort our shower of a defence out.

These Spurs fans clearly rate King as one of their best ever players, as they were all quick to suggest he would the one they would bring back.
What do we think?
King obviously made a strong impression on many Spurs fans during his time at the club and you have to wonder how many appearances he would have gone on to make had he been injury-free.
