Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing the latest transfer rumour which has linked the north London club with a move for Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan.
According to RMC Sport (via TranSPURS), the Lilywhites have made significant enquiries about signing the 19-year-old, who is able to play as both a right-back and a centre-back. The youngster has burst onto the scene with the Ligue 1 side this season, making 25 appearances for Strasbourg in all competitions, having previously made no senior appearances.
The defender is currently valued at £6.48 million by Transfermarkt and is contracted until 2023, however, with the report suggesting that the likes of Everton and AC Milan are also interested in the Frenchman, it seems as though a summer exit may be likely.

100% wont be a Jose signing as he doesn’t buy youth!
Levy needs to give him the chance to sign a recognised player in the positions he wants who’ll hit the ground running, not someone who will be good in 3 years time #COYS #THFC— Peter (@_petey_pan) April 27, 2020
Another prospect, never a finished article.

Some of these Spurs fans seem keener on a move for Simakan than others.
What do we think?
With Jan Vertonghen potentially leaving this summer when his contract expires, Spurs are arguably in need of a long-term replacement. Perhaps Simakan could be that man for Jose Mourinho.
