Spurs fans have been discussing Erik Lamela on Twitter after a fan shared some of his contributions in ‘big matches’ during his Tottenham career.
Spurs fan EashN17 shared some of the Argentine’s stats in ‘big games’ during his time with the North London club and this included his goal and assist against Barcelona from 2018. The winger joined Spurs from Roma in 2013 and has gone on to make 214 appearances for the Lilywhites; contributing just 33 goals and 47 assists.
The Argentinian international has regularly struggled with injury problems during his time in the Premier League, suggesting that his statistics would be a lot better had he more consistently enjoyed prolonged periods in the first-team.
Would you sell Lamela this summer?YesNo |

Inconsistent. Unreliable. Time for him to move on.

One fan even suggested that Spurs could sign Eberechi Eze with the potential fee the club receive for Erik Lamela. Interestingly, Spurs have been linked with the attacking midfielder.
He has to be sold this summer. Had 6 seasons to prove himself but we need to push on. And clearly not gonna invest with extra money so sell and reinvest. Could get Eze with that money. Or benrahma.

One of the worst tweets ever seen on this platform. 16 goals in 146 PL games over 7 seasons. One in 9. 2 goals per season. Diabolical.

Disrespected but also dead and injured most of the time. We can’t keep relying on that if we want to be serious challengers

Has never done enough consistently to even be considered a nailed on starter for us …isn’t just about big games

Anyway, to cut a long story short, he needs to go

These Spurs fans were quick to react to the positive tweet on Lamela and suggested that he needs to be sold this summer.
What do we think?
So far this season, Lamela has averaged a disappointing 6.68 rating across his 17 appearances in the Premier League and considering he missed another 12 games through injury earlier in the campaign, perhaps it is time for Spurs to cash in on the £14.4 million rated man.
