Spurs fans were delighted to see their club being linked with a move for Manchester United and current Sheffield United loanee Dean Henderson.

According to Football.London (via Ricky Sacks), the North London club are considering a move for the English ‘keeper ahead of next season. The report suggests that both Henderson and Burnley’s Nick Pope could be options to provide back-up, or potentially replace, Hugo Lloris ahead of next season.

How well can you remember these obscure Spurs players? - Who is this?

So far this season, Henderson has seriously impressed in a Sheffield United side that is one of the strongest defensive sides in the division, helping Chris Wilder’s side to 10 clean sheets already this season. The 23-year-old might well be Manchester United’s player, but with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having both David de Gea and Sergio Romero available to him, there is no guarantee that he would feature for the Red Devils if he were to stay with the club next season.

Reaction from Spurs fans to the possibility of signing Henderson can be seen in the tweets below.

These Spurs fans don’t seem too convinced that Henderson would be willing to join the club, but the majority seem to think he would be a great signing if he did.

What do we think?

Henderson is currently valued at £16.2 million by Transfermarkt but you imagine that considering he is just 23-years-old and Spurs are a direct top-four rival, United may well demand a hefty fee for the young ‘keeper if Spurs did enquire about signing him.
