Spurs fans have been discussing an old image of the team celebrating a goal during the final ever game played at White Hart Lane, which saw Mauricio Pochettino’s side beat Manchester United 2-1.
A Spurs fan on Twitter shared an image of the team celebrating when they went 2-0 up against Manchester United in 2017, as the Lilywhites said goodbye to White Hart Lane by earning a 2-1 win over the Red Devils. The North London club would subsequently play at Wembley until finally moving into their new £1 billion stadium in April last year.
The Twitter user bemoaned the fact that the club have, in his opinion, failed to strengthen from that 2017 team, which would eventually finish second in the Premier League table behind Chelsea.
Do you miss White Hart Lane?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to this image from the last game at White Hart Lane can be seen in the tweets below.
It’s the thing I miss the most about this team. That togetherness and unbreakable bond. I don’t blame them for it breaking. Only so much lack of ambition they can take.

That was a brilliant bond they had and something happened behind closed doors as this season that Bind had just gone like it never existed

16/17 and 17/18 teams are probably as good as it will get until ENIC sells. 11 losses in the league – combined those 2 years. Players had so much joy. The last 2 seasons have been a real slog.

Madness. Just needed 2 or 3 world class players. Poch would have dominated for years. Let’s hope Jose gets the backing.

Great team spirit! Fantastic season in PL! Only dropped 4 pts at home. #happydays

These Spurs fans clearly enjoyed the photo of the team celebrating at their old ground and seem to miss the team spirit that they believe was more evident back in 2017.
What do we think?
It is impossible to say whether there has been any changes behind the scenes other than the managerial change which might have impacted Spurs’ ‘team spirit’ but it is true that they are yet to really match some of the form they showed at White Hart Lane in their last couple of seasons there, since moving to their new stadium.
