Spurs fans have been reacting to the news that Eric Dier has been charged by the FA for his actions following the FA Cup defeat against Norwich City last month.
The 26-year-old was charged by the FA, as per Sky Sports, for his decision to climb into the stands to confront a Spurs fan following the penalty defeat. The former Sporting Lisbon man now has until May 8 to respond to the charges, with the report suggesting that should he accept the charges, it could well come with a hefty suspension.
So far this season, the defensive midfielder has averaged a disappointing 6.63 rating across his 14 appearances in the Premier League, suggesting that he may not be the biggest loss for Jose Mourinho should he miss a few fixtures when football resumes from its current suspension. The news on Dier was then shared with fans via Hotspur Related on Twitter.

I am not saying whether his actions were right nor wrong. Surely our illustrious governing body has greater problems right now: like looking after the smaller clubs the lower leagues beneath them. However they busy themselves with something most of us had forgotten PATHETIC

It’s good to see the FA are concentrating on the really important issues

He should be banned from all football until sometime towards the middle of May, at the very latest.

Some Spurs fans were quick to bemoan the fact that it took the FA so long to decide to charge the £18 million-rated man for his actions.
What do we think?
It is strange that it took the FA so long to make this decision and it could be argued they should be focusing on more important things right now, such as the non-league teams that could be going out of business due to the current viral outbreak.
