Spurs fans have been reacting to an article from Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold, which discusses some of the finances at the North London club.

How well can you remember these obscure Spurs players? - Who is this?

“The total aggregate remuneration of directors, who are deemed to represent key management personnel, for the year ended June 30 2019 was £6.4m,” per Football.London.

“The highest-paid director received remuneration of £4m for the year in addition to the bonus deferred from the prior year of £3m as explained above.”

Gold then offers his own opinion on how the financial details being published recently is bad timing for Levy, after it was announced that the club’s non-playing staff would receive 80% of their usual wage through the government’s furlough scheme earlier this week.

He writes: “Levy’s pay packet was earned a year ago but it will not escape scrutiny from the fans and the public due to the proximity of its reveal with the decision made by the club to cut wages for two months, including the chairman’s.” per Football.London

Reaction from Spurs fans to Gold’s article can be seen in the tweets below.

These Spurs fans are clearly fuming with Levy after his decision earlier this week, combined with his reported earnings from last season.

What do we think?

It seems crazy that someone with so much money is willing to cut the wages of his non-playing staff, whilst his millionaire footballers remain on their full wages. Hopefully, the club will change their mind and try and look out for the more vulnerable during this current viral outbreak.
