Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing their former centre forward, Bobby Zamora.
‘A Spursy Podcast’ asked supporters of the North London club on Twitter for their thoughts on the former striker, who made 18 appearances for the Lilywhites during his career; scoring just one goal (per Transfermarkt). The 39-year-old joined Spurs from Brighton in the summer of 2003 for £1.8 million, before joining West Ham United in January 2004 (per Tranfsermarkt).
He would go on to play for the likes of Fulham, QPR, and Brighton before eventually retiring in 2016 (per Transfermarkt). Although he made less than 20 appearances for the North London club, plenty of Spurs fans were keen to have their say on the Englishman.
Was Zamora given a fair chance at Spurs?
Yes
No

Terrible signing. The lack of appearances speaks volumes. Did not have the vitamins and minerals for us. Sorry Bobby

Signed the same summer as Kanoute and Postiga I think to be 4th choice (what a luxury). Like you said he made a decent career for himself.

West Ham was his only goal right?
He was ok but never the level we needed— Harry C (@HazSpur92) April 27, 2020
One of those players we seemed to be linked with for years, never settled

Had him similar time to Postiga no? Such high hopes for them. Nope.

Missed a sitter on his debut away to Birmingham if I remember correctly.

These Spurs fans seem to be in agreement that Zamora certainly wasn’t the best player for them.
What do we think?
One goal in 18 games was never going to earn Zamora many fans at Spurs. However, considering that he spent less than a year at the North London club, you could argue that he wasn’t really given much time to settle in.
