Spurs fans have been reacting angrily to the reported news that Daniel Levy has signalled his intent to push ahead with 20 percent wage cuts for non-playing staff at the North London club.
According to The Telegraph (via The Spurs Web), the Spurs chairman will not be reversing his decision to furlough the non-playing staff, despite facing widespread criticism. Earlier this week, Liverpool announced they would be reversing their decision to furlough non-playing staff after facing criticism, but it seems as if the Lilywhites will not be following suit.
The Spurs chairman originally made the news public last week and the article from the Telegraph suggests that employees have now been sent a second email including the details of their wage cut and changes to their contract, although there is no mention of what would happen if they were to refuse to agree to the new terms.
Do you think there is any possibility that the club will reverse their decision?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the latest news on the club’s decision to furlough non-playing staff can be seen in the tweets below.
Shocking and it’s seems as bad today as when it was first announced. Levy has no shame and I note that he has still pocketed his £3 million bonus and not given any of it to a worthy cause. He is shameful.

Hate him

This is a poor move from the club, the players should also have the same treatment if this is going to happen.

40 years I’ve suffered the ups and downs of being a Tottenham supporter, they have disappointed me many times but I don’t think I have felt as disappointed in my club as i do right now.

The man never ceases to amaze how heartless he is

Like taking bread from the poor to give it to your dog! A sad day for a great club. We used to have morals, ethics, standards and now look how far we have fallen! Thank you ENIC! @SpursOfficial

Of course. So shameless

I am a lifelong Spurs fan but thus action is disgraceful.
Tottenham should be better than this. I understand that with no football some jobs do not need doing…but think of the optics…it makes Spurs look miserly and mean.— Stephen Pope (@pope_stephen) April 6, 2020
These Spurs fans are clearly not happy with the latest update and will be hoping out some hope that the club reverses their original decision.
What do we think?
It is surprising that a club the size of Spurs are furloughing their non-playing staff and although you would hope that they would follow Liverpool in changing their decision, these Spurs fans seem to think that whilst Levy is in charge of the club, that is unlikely to happen.
