Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing Erik Lamela and his role at the north London club.

COYS.com asked Spurs fans for their thoughts on the Argentinian’s future with the Lilywhites, which has attracted the attention of plenty of supporters. Spurs signed the winger from Roma in 2013 and in nearly seven years at the club, he has gone on to make 214 appearances, scoring 33 goals and providing 47 assists (per Transfermarkt).

How well can you remember these Spurs kits? - First up, which season is this from?

Unfortunately for the 28-year-old, injuries have proved to be a real issue throughout his career with the Lilywhites, most notably when he missed 57 games due to a hip injury between 2016 and 2017. So far this season, the Argentinian international has made 17 appearances in the Premier League, scoring two and averaging a disappointing 6.68 rating (per WhoScored).

These Spurs fans seem to be in agreement that Lamela isn’t good enough and needs to be moved on this summer.

What do we think?

In his time as Spurs boss, Mourinho has spoken highly of Lamela, so it would perhaps be a surprise to see the £14.4 million-rated man depart this summer, despite his uninspiring performances so far this season.
