Spurs fans have been discussing former player Nacer Chadli after some footage of the Belgian international scoring against Arsenal emerged on Twitter.
The Spurs Web shared the footage of the winger netting the opening goal at the Emirates Stadium, in a 1-1 draw from 2014. Spurs signed the Belgian from FC Twente in 2013 and he went on to make 119 appearances for the North London club; contributing 25 goals and 16 assists.
He was later sold to West Bromwich Albion in 2016 and currently features for RSC Anderlecht in his home country and has impressed so far this season; having contributed eight goals and five assists in 17 games in the league. Considering he is still just 30-years-old, perhaps Spurs let the £7.2 million rated man leave too early?
Did Spurs let Chadli leave too early?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the video of Chadli’s goal can be seen in the tweets below.
Quality player and always chipped in with important goals. We could have kept him even until today as a squad player but having got him for £7m seemed a good idea to almost double our money selling for £13m although far too good for WBA

Never let us down. Good finisher. Always stepped up to the plate when Harry was injured.

100%, was just as good as Lucas, Bergwijn and better than Lamela

Btw was a big fan of Chadli. Feel he’d probably start for us now. Better than Lucas and Lamela. His goal and assists return were pretty impressive.

These Spurs fans seem to have liked Chadli and suggest that the club did perhaps let him leave too soon.
What do we think?
Chadli was never really able to maintain his form from the 2014/15 season, where he hit 11 goals in the Premier League for Spurs but perhaps he would have pushed on and improved his consistency if he had been given more time at the North London club
