Alasdair Gold has produced an article on what he thinks Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield will look like next season and has split the piece into three categories.

How well can you remember these obscure Spurs players? - Who is this?

They are the players he thinks will be leaving either on loan or permanently, the ones who will be sticking around and those he thinks will be arriving at the club.

One of the players that Gold believes will be heading straight back out on loan again is Jack Clarke.

Gold wrote (via Football.london): “Further up the pitch in the attacking midfielder and wide positions, Tottenham are now well-stocked, perhaps overstocked. Jack Clarke will return from his time at QPR and be assessed but is likely to head back out again on loan.”

Do you think Clarke should be sent out on loan again next season?

Yes, he needs the game time

Yes, he needs the game time

No, keep him with the first-team squad

No, keep him with the first-team squad

The 19-year-old, who is valued at £4.86m by Transfermarkt, was signed from Leeds for around £10m last summer and was then loaned back to the Whites, but Clarke really struggled for game time under Marcelo Bielsa – as he made just one league appearance and two in the EFL Cup.

Clarke’s spell with Leeds this season saw him appearing for just 134 minutes for the first team.

This led to Spurs recalling him and sending him back out on loan to another Championship side – this time QPR.

Since moving to Loftus Road, Clarke has made five appearances, scored no goals, and provided no assists

He also only averages a 6.14 rating in the league for the Rs and arguably needs to be doing more to impress Jose Mourinho.

What do we think?

Clarke was signed after a decent breakthrough year for the Whites, where he made 25 appearances scored two goals and provided two assists in all competitions.

However, for one reason or another this season, Bielsa did not want to use him.

The 19-year-old must now fight to prove his worth because a 6.14 rating in the Championship is just not good enough if he wants to be playing regularly for Tottenham anytime soon.
