Amanda Staveley and her representatives have begun sounding out potential candidates for roles in a new-look Newcastle United hierarchy – that’s according to the Notebook (via the Chronicle).
Talks continue regarding a takeover and there is a ‘bullishness’ on the buying side that a deal can be agreed according to the report.
Here is what the fans have had to say regarding the update via Twitter.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, until I see this sheik stood at st James park holding a Newcastle shirt on sky news, it’s all a pack of lies!

I don’t even believe Sky Sports. Unless I’ve seen it everywhere, I’ll remain skeptical lol #NUFC

Do you believe Staveley's consortium are as close to taking over the club as reported?
Yes
No
There’s absolutely nothing in the article to back up the headline.

She’s back? How many times will she have takeover talks?

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that many Newcastle United fans refuse to believe a takeover is any closer to taking place. The report claims that the initial paperwork has been submitted to the Premier League but that no meetings between the proposed new owners and the authorities have taken place as of yet.
Therefore, you can understand why these supporters, in particular, are having a hard time believing that the search for potential candidates to help lead the club is already underway. The Magpies currently occupy 13th position in the top-flight, eight points clear of the drop-zone.
