Newcastle United’s owners-in-waiting remain confident of a takeover deal being completed, despite the row with BeIN Sports – according to a report from the Chronicle’s Lee Ryder. It’s understood they are still awaiting the results of the Premier League’s owners’ and directors’ test but have no concerns regarding the outcome.
It emerged on Wednesday that one of the Premier League’s biggest broadcast partners, BeIN Sports, had written to the powers that be, urging them to ‘fully interrogate’ those associated with the proposed £300m takeover (as per BBC Sport).
The letter claims that the Saudi Arabian government has been facilitating the theft of the competition’s commercial rights by backing a pirate television service. How have the fans responded to these latest developments?
Frivolous political point scoring from the Qataris. They shouldn’t be throwing stones in that glass of theres, surely.

It’s known that Qatar bribed people to get the World Cup. Imagine if there were successful if blocking takeover , questions would have to be asked of the Premier league’s integrity ?

In my opinion I firmly believe this has nothing to do with the take over…it has to do with the politics behind Qatar and the streaming…all they want to do is make everyone aware so they get stopped streaming illegally (apparently) #NUFC #TakeoverStillOn

All seems like a publicity stunt paid for by Ashley, hope I’m wrong so bad

Are you concerned regarding the takeover following this development?
Yes
No
The premier league should respond back saying thank you for you concern buy we will not be discussing anything regarding the supposed takeover of Newcastle United. We respect the contract with you but won’t be drawn into a political battle.

Anyone panicking, stop. You’ll be celebrating very soon, of that I am sure.

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that most of these Newcastle United supporters believe this to be nothing more than the broadcaster taking the opportunity to raise their concerns regarding illegal streaming to the Premier League directly.
