A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from TV personality Greg Lake, who claims if the proposed takeover of Newcastle goes through, Rafael Benitez will return as manager.
Lake, formerly of reality TV show Geordie Shore, was then asked how he knew this in reply to his Twitter post, as he claimed that he heard it through a football lawyer, and the timescale for the takeover and Benitez’s appointment is five weeks.
He also claimed that his source is ‘pretty certain‘ that the deal will be done, and Mike Ashley will be replaced as the Toon’s owner.
However, judging by these responses, we are not sure many Newcastle fans believe this latest claim.

We are not sure how reliable Lake is, but he is making a bold claim that could be huge for the Toon if it happened.
Former Real Madrid boss Benitez left Tyneside last summer after he felt certain promises were not kept and that Ashley did not want to invest in the club.
Benitez was loved on Tyneside, and if he were to return, then we think it would go down well with many Newcastle fans.
