A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a tweet from NUFC 360 relaying some transfer news from The Athletic reporter Chris Waugh.
Waugh claims that Newcastle have compiled a list of free transfers that they are monitoring that include Olivier Giroud, Adam Lallana, and Ryan Fraser.
This has drawn a reaction from these Toon fans.

What’s the point? We won’t even pay half of what they’d want for wages.

One fan even stated that the club is stuck with Mike Ashley, which suggests that they’ve presumed a potential takeover is off due to the reported targets being potential free agents.
so were stuck with Ashley then

Proper Steve Bruce targets. I’d hope he’d be given the sack before he gets the chance to sign anyone such as Bentaleb. Fraser & giroud are good but won’t come here and Lallana is an injury prone busted flush.

What do we think?
The current global pandemic could cause financial problems for clubs and, there is expected to be a lot less money available for transfers – so if the Toon have drawn up a list of free transfers, then that could be a good move.
Who would you prefer out of these three?
Giroud
Fraser
Lallana
However, Giroud turned down a move to St James’ Park in January – so would he not turn them down again?
Fraser, on the other hand, has not had a great season for Bournemouth averaging a 6.57 rating in the league and only providing one goal and four assists.
Finally, Lallana has played 36 games in the past two years for Liverpool – so would he be ready to make an immediate impact for Newcastle?
It will be interesting to see in the summer if the Toon make a move for any of these.
