A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from Adam Peacock – a Fox Sports Australia reporter and Toon fan.
He has relayed news from The Times, which claims that the proposed takeover of Newcastle United by PIF, PCP, and the Reuben brothers is now complete.
The report in The Times claims that the deposit is now paid and that according to one source, there is no backing out now from either side.
The piece states that the deal is with the Premier League going through the checks, and it could be done in three weeks.
This tweet from Peacock has attracted the attention of these Toon fans who seem thrilled.
Is this the best update so far?
Yes, it looks like it is done
No, I am still not convinced
According to London Times, Saudi buyout of Newcastle United sealed.
Deposit paid, paperwork exchanged, "no backing out from either side now" according to a source.

What do we think?
It was reported last week by Mark Douglas that the deal was with the Premier League, and that was all that stood between the Toon and new owners.
However, counterclaims emerged that seemed to suggest that Mike Ashley could still pull the plug on the deal.
This piece from The Times, though, seems to confirm that the deal cannot be pulled away from and the last check for this takeover to get through is the Premier League’s owners and directors test.
If this report is accurate, then once that is done, Newcastle United will have new owners.
