Who is this?

The tweet posed a question from Lee Ryder’s Q&A session regarding the future of Charnley in the wake of the recent progress in takeover talks at St. James’ Park, with the Chronicle sharing a link to Ryder’s response. (20:42)

The Chronicle reporter said: “Sometimes staff stay on to guide new leaders through the early days and possibly beyond.”

Ryder also said that Charnley has ‘worked his way through the ranks and that while publicly he has had criticism, he will know the books inside out‘.

This tweet has not gone down well with these Toon fans, who do not want Charnley to be associated with the club if they are taken over.

What do we think?

If this proposed takeover goes through, the new owners will surely want a fresh start, with new faces in most positions.

Judging by the replies to the tweet, Charnley is hated by many Newcastle fans, and we think that if the owners want to start a new regime, then they should consider binning Charnley.

Certainly, these Toon fans think he should be let go if the takeover happens.
