A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from Mark Douglas with a new takeover update.
The Evening Chronicle reporter produced a piece that includes an interview with Twitter user PriceOfFootball.
In the piece, Kieran Maguire (PriceOfFootball) claims that with the current pandemic, Mike Ashley will not get £300m for the Toon.
Mr Maguire believes that in the current climate, Ashley would be lucky to get £250m for Newcastle.
Does this update worry you?
Yes
No
He believes that if Ashley truly wants to sell Newcastle in the current climate, then he must accept less than his rumoured valuation of between £300m and £350m.
Mr Maguire also makes an interesting claim on PIF and believes that them buying Newcastle goes against the aims and the ambitions of the Kingdom.
He thinks that the Saudi government want their country to become a sporting hub and that buying a club might not help them achieve that aim.
This new update on the potential takeover has not gone down well with many Newcastle fans.

You won't get your £300m for #nufc.

His ego wont allow him to sell it without ripping them off. Greed. He will sit on the club and we wil continue to stagnate. However if he doesn’t sell this time i dont see him ever selling.

Doesn’t matter what the value of #nufc is Ashley will always want more.

He wants £350m so that’s not happening is it.

I don’t know how to feel about this. MA surely knows the club is worth more than what he will get if he accepted an offer below £300m now. He’ll wait until normality has resumed, which could be years yet..

That’s that dream over then.

He’s the only person who thinks we’re worth that! Hence the deals never going though!

This is worrying if true, as I can’t see Ashley taking less than £300m

What do we think?
If what Mr Maguire says is true, then Ashley would be looking at getting £100m less than what he apparently values the club at.
Would Ashley do this?
We guess we will just have to wait and see.
