A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from NUFC 360 that has relayed new takeover information from Eurosport.
They claim that the Toon have furloughed their existing recruitment team, and several new Sporting Directors are being interviewed ahead of a possible takeover (via Get French Football News).
Are you confused by this new report?
Yes
No
However, bizarrely, it is said the report initially mentioned Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed al Nahyan of BZG, but they then removed that name and left the person involved in the takeover as nameless.
This has baffled many Toon fans who feel that because of this error, no one actually knows what is happening.
Eurosport had initially stated the takeover was led by Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed al Nahyan's (BZG ) but have since removed the name from the report.

I can’t find the link, but the title says all you need about the credibility and source of the report.

“Just stick something about a takeover at the end, they’ll soon be interested”

Sounds like they are must copying older reports. We furloughed the scouts ages ago, and plenty of papers have said Stavely was looking at potential board members etc

yeah but they mention that khaled is back so i don’t buy it

Furloughed their staff, then using a “takeover” to blame the uncertainty to take the tax payers money you mean? Absolute nonsense.

What do we think?
It does seem odd that Eurosport apparently initially mentioned BZG, the group that failed to take over the Toon in 2019.
However, because they removed it straight away, it might have been an honest mistake – considering that the group heavily linked with buying Newcastle is PIF rather than BZG.
This report from Eurosport, though, suggests that new staff could be appointed ahead of a change in ownership.
We will just have to wait and see if it comes to anything.
