A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a tweet from the Evening Chronicle about claims made by Martin Samuel in the Daily Mail.
Samuel claimed that he thinks there should be ‘alarm bells ringing’ when it comes to this proposed takeover.
He ponders why PIF haven’t, with all of their wealth, offered to pay Mike Ashley the £340m he reportedly wants for the club, as an offer of £300m is thought to be currently on the table.
He also claims that all of the noise is coming from the buying side and the selling side has said nothing, while suggesting that Ashley does not trust Amanda Staveley.
Does this update worry you?
Yes
No
This piece from Samuel has not gone down well with these Toon fans, who are now worried.
One of the only journalists to have sat down with Mike Ashley warns of ‘alarm bells ringing’ over takeover. https://t.co/8C8DrgMCCl

Other Newcastle supporters, though, think that this is nonsense from Samuel.
If a price hasn’t been agreed then why would it go to the PL seems a bit backwards he’s just on a windup it’s pointless giving him relevancy

Ashley is simply sounding off through one of his mouthpieces Martin Samuel due to price reduction through pandemic, another non story from the chronicle.

Wow, giving credence to an article and writer who have the sole intention of being controversial to gain traction. It’s a rambling, baseless opinion piece, and not a very good one at that!

Anything that Martin Samuel says is not worth listening to

What do we think?
This does just seem to be a bit of scaremongering from the Daily Mail reporter as the deal for the club to be sold is all-but set to be completed.
Something could, of course, still go wrong, and in that case, Samuel would be proved right, but these Toon fans will be hoping that the takeover does indeed go through.
