A lot of Newcastle United fans are not happy with what they see as the lack of media attention given to the Toon’s decision to furlough staff – with particular anger directed towards Sky Sports.
This comes from a tweet by NUFC 360 that claims there is ‘no pressure from anyone in the media for him to reverse his decision’.
The post focuses on a tweet from Sky Sports, which seems to be talking about the pressure Tottenham Hotspur have come under, and this has annoyed these Toon fans.
Do you think the media could pressure Ashley more?
Yes
No
Mike Ashley decided to do this first, however there’s no pressure from anybody in the media for him to reverse his decision #NUFC https://t.co/W7oaJyatAX

What do we think?
Newcastle were the first Premier League club to furlough non-playing staff and have received some slight backlash. (Martin Hardy and Craig Hope)
However, it does not seem to be on the same scale as the backlash Liverpool received before reversing their decision or what Tottenham are now receiving.
Does this seem right considering the Toon made this move first?
Surely, they should be receiving more criticism than what they are, but as some Newcastle fans point out, maybe this is just what is expected of Mike Ashley – so he can get away with it.
We still hope they reverse their decision.
