Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that concern the use of VAR in the Champions League when the current season resumes.
According to reports in French publication L’Equipe, UEFA has proposed to finish the current Champions League and Europa League seasons during the month of August, however, VAR would not be in use during the remaining fixtures, as the video assistant referees would not be able to comply with social distancing rules.
In reaction to the reports, which were relayed on Twitter by Man City Xtra, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating their belief that the news is excellent for Manchester City.
Are you happy with the news regarding VAR?
For sure
No way
UEFA Champions League matches could be resumed without VAR to prevent overcrowding between referees in referee operations rooms.

What do we think?
While many of the City fans appear delighted at the news that VAR may not be used in the remaining Champions League games this season – should they actually resume – objectively, the news is just as good or bad for any other side left in the competition.
It goes without saying that the purpose of VAR is to attempt to ensure that no mistakes are made by the referee, and should Real Madrid score a clearly offside goal that is missed by the linesman in the second leg of City’s Champions League tie with the Spanish giants, it will be interesting to see whether City fans remain so happy about the absence of VAR.
