Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Italian giants AC Milan have met with David Silva’s agents to discuss a possible deal.
Silva had previously announced that he was to leave Manchester City at the end of the current season, however, with the unexpected and ongoing break from the 2019/20 campaign resulting in this season being extended indefinitely, Silva’s current contract is set to be extended to cover the club’s remaining fixtures.
Despite this, interest still remains high in the 34-year-old, with Corriere dello Sport (via Calciomercato) recently reporting that AC Milan had met with Silva’s agents regarding a proposed move to San Siro next season.
In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by Man City Xtra on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating their belief that the Spaniard should return to his home country rather than move to Italy, while others have suggested a swap deal for a number of Milan’s players.
AC Milan have held a meeting with David Silva’s agent to gauge whether there is the possibility of a move to Italy.
There are also multiple teams in China, the USA, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE and Japan that would welcome Silva this summer.

Any team in the world would be glad to have him

He deserves better quality football than any of those other five countries listed, can offer. Though I’m guessing there’ll be very lucrative deals on the table for Dave from those countries. And Japan might be tempting, given the fact his mother is of Japanese descent.

What do we think?
Silva has been a magnificent servant to Manchester City over his 10 seasons with the club, making 424 appearances, scoring 74 goals and providing a remarkable 137 assists, helping City to win four Premier League titles, five League Cups, two FA Cups and two Community Shields.
Even with his advancing years, the former Spanish international has still been in impressive form for City this campaign, scoring three goals and providing seven assists in his 19 Premier League appearances, while averaging a WhoScored match rating of 7.15 in the league.
As such, the midfielder looks like he still has plenty to offer, meaning that whoever does manage to land Silva’s signature for next season could still witness some of the Spaniard’s magic.
