The Athletic’s James Pearce took to Twitter to share some footage of a “classy message” that Jurgen Klopp recently sent in the form of a video to “legendary Melwood gateman Kenny Grimes”, which has caught the attention of many Liverpool supporters.
This tweet shares the news that Grimes, who has given “more than a quarter of a century of service” to the football club, is set to retire. Klopp addresses Grimes’ retirement in this video message in which he assures the long-time employee of the club is “always welcome” at their training ground, declaring that he hopes to see Grimes “more often than not” post-retirement.
Klopp goes on to declare that he will “personally” show Grimes around the club’s new training ground at Kirkby once the club move there. As per The Guardian, the Reds are set to move into their new “£50m Kirkby training facility”, which will replace Melwood as the club’s training ground for “next pre-season”.
Some Reds supporters have been reacting positively to Pearce’s recent tweet sharing this message from Klopp. Read the reactions of some Liverpool supporters to this post in the tweets below.

Who else takes timeout to invite the gateman or anyone else back to show them around and tells them happy retirement? I don’t know any at all…. Only classy Klopp would do this sort of thing, absolute gentleman and brilliant guy #OURmanager pic.twitter.com/95F5XxqRYv

We are so lucky to have this man at our club. I only wish he would stay for many more years. Though we all know his plans. Just enjoy him while he’s here. Brilliant

What do we think?
Considering that Grimes gave “more than a quarter of a century of service” to the football club, it may be fair to say that it was a nice gesture from Klopp to send him this message upon hearing the news of his retirement.
