Liverpool fans have flocked to Twitter to respond to the latest revelation from goalkeeper Loris Karius, who is currently on-loan at Besiktas.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post on their page relaying comments made by the German in a recent interview with Sport Bild.
In the interview, Karius opened up about the 2018 Champions League final which Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid, with the German making two costly individual errors in that game. (per BBC Sport).
The 26-year-old revealed that he suffered a “concussion” after receiving a blow from Sergio Ramos that “restricted” his spatial vision during the game.
He added that there was a lot of “malice and insults” directed at him after the match which he sees as being “over the top and disrespectful.”
He summarised the issue by claiming that his mistakes in the match were “not assessed fairly.”

If he knew his vision was compromised, he was a willing liability. The competitor in him didn’t want to be substituted, but he wagered the whole team’s success on his ability to weather the storm. Once the Benzema goal happened, he should have folded instead of going all in.

Why did he keep on playing, then?

What an embarrassment

Did he really come out with that recently? How embarrassing for himself

You better keep quite

No idea why he’s still going on about it, he also seems to not be the brightest spark if he thinks reactions were over the top, he screwed up majorly in the biggest game in club football with everyone watching causing Liverpool fans around the globe heartbreak.

What do we think?
With the clarity of hindsight, if Karius really had a concussion that affected his vision, then he should have been taken off the pitch.
