Liverpool fans on Twitter have been singing the praises of club captain Jordan Henderson.
This comes after football journalist Paul Joyce shared a post on his official Twitter page that included an article he wrote with Matt Lawton for The Times.
The article claims that Henderson is “organising a Premier League coronavirus crisis fund for the NHS that will run into millions of pounds.”
The article also revealed that the Englishman has “spent the last few days contacting the captains of other Premier League clubs to pitch the idea.”
This post then quickly gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were over the moon with this latest news.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:

Is Jordan Henderson the right man to captain Liverpool?
Yes, absolutely
No
The Englishman took over from Reds legend Steven Gerrard as club captain back in 2015. Now that it has been reported that Henderson has taken it amongst himself to rally round other Premier League captains to try and raise money for the NHS, this has earned the 29-year-old a heap of praise on Twitter.
Fantastic, the vast majority of players give so much to there local community that goes unreported. It was a poor deflection tactic from Hancock to suggest they should be doing more. I hope he publicly acknowledges this and gives credit where its due

Couldn’t be more proud. And kudos to all the PL players involved. Maybe they might soon be the recipient of the hollow thanks that make up the first 12 minutes of every briefing.

Brilliant

What do we think?
This is a great bit of work from Henderson doing his bit for the NHS and encouraging his fellow Premier League captains to take action as well.
