Liverpool fans on Twitter have been discussing the potential club takeover of fellow Premier League side Newcastle United.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @empireofthekop shared a post on their page asking their followers how they would feel if their club were about to be taken over by a consortium that includes Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, as Newcastle are likely to be.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were eager to have their say on the situation.

Genuinely want to hear the reaction of Liverpool fans. If we were about to be bought out by what is effectively Saudi Arabia, as Newcastle are, how would you feel?

I’m already disillusioned with the way football is heading (this takeover being another example). If it happened to Liverpool, I think I’d jack it in altogether.

The new owners for Newcastle would be taking over from current owner Mike Ashley, who has not always been accepted by some Newcastle fans.
Now with this takeover looking more and more likely with each passing day, and with this question being put to these Liverpool fans on how they would feel if they were in the same boat as Newcastle, this sparked a big response on Twitter.

Annoyed because it would go against everything the club is ethics wise. I mean I get why Newcastle fans are happy about the potential deal. But really it’s the lesser of 2 evils in their eyes I’d assume
