Liverpool fans have flocked to Twitter to respond to the latest transfer update from James Pearce.
This comes after the journalist shared a post on his official Twitter page sharing his thoughts on a potential Anfield return for former Reds winger Raheem Sterling.
Pearce claimed that there is “more chance of Lord Lucan riding into Anfield on Shergar” than Sterling returning to Liverpool.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were eager to share their thoughts on Pearce’s assessment.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to Pearce’s post:

Did Raheem Sterling make a mistake leaving Liverpool?
Yes
No
The Manchester City forward left the Merseyside club back in 2015 and has since become a two-time Premier League champion. During his time at Liverpool, Sterling racked up a total of 129 appearances for the club in which he scored 23 goals and provided 25 assists (per Transfermarkt). Now that Pearce has come out and revealed that the likelihood of a Merseyside reunion for Sterling is very slim, this then gathered a big reaction from Liverpool fans on Twitter.
That’s great news James. I was getting a bit worried. Phew.

What do we think?
It seems that despite his domestic success at Manchester City since leaving Liverpool, these Reds are glad that Sterling won’t be making a return to Anfield anytime soon.
