Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri has taken to social media to share how much he misses playing for the Reds. Football is currently suspended due to the recent viral outbreak and it was recently announced that the Premier League would not resume in May.
Jurgen Klopp’s side currently sits top of the Premier League table and were on course to win their first domestic title since the 1989-90 season. They boast a 25-point-lead over the reigning champions Manchester City, therefore, you can understand why their players are keen to resume the season if and when it is deemed safe to do so.
Here is how some of the fans have responded to the player’s post.
Interestingly, many supporters have pleaded for Shaqiri to stay, which could be down to the fact that he has been linked with an exit.
Stay shaq ??

What do we think?
Despite Shaqiri having made just six appearances in the Premier League this season, it’s clear from the responses of these supporters that he remains a popular figure. The Swiss international joined the Reds from Stoke City back in July 2018 for £13.23m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk) and has made 40 appearances for the club, scoring seven goals and providing five assists.
