Liverpool fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest revelation concerning former Reds striker Mario Balotelli.
This comes after Liverpool-focused Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post on their page relaying news originally posted in an article from The Athletic.
The article reveals that while sat in a car with his then-teammate Joe Allen, the Italian had no idea who he was.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were quick to share their reactions to this news.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:

Haha… not. He was a supreme idiot. Signing him was exhibit A why we have gone 30 years without a title.

Balotelli was a bit of train wreck wasn’t he?

Ballotelli is one of the worst signings in the entire history of the club.

Is Mario Balotelli Liverpool's worst signing in the PL era?
Yes
No
The former Manchester City striker joined the Reds back in 2014 from AC Milan for a fee of £18 million (per Transfermarkt). But after one year at Anfield then another year back at Milan on loan, Balotelli left the Merseyside club on a free transfer in 2016 for a move to OGC Nice. Now that this story has emerged on Twitter of Balotelli failing to recognise Allen, this has given lots of Reds fans the opportunity to have their say.
Just shows the complete arrogance of him

I liked Joe Allen, was a good midfielder and great passer of the ball, his time at Liverpool is criminally underrated

What do we think?
It seems as though this example of what went down during Balotelli’s time at Anfield has not done much to improve these fans’ thoughts on him.
